What Changes After Onboarding to WhatsApp Cloud API with BotBee?
After onboarding your WhatsApp number to the Official WhatsApp Business Cloud API using BotBee, some WhatsApp Business App features behave differently. Below is a clear breakdown of what continues to work, what becomes unavailable, and what is supported through the API.
Supported & Synced with BotBee Cloud API
- 1:1 Chats – Still usable and fully synced with the BotBee platform
- Contacts – Contacts remain available and synced
Available Only in WhatsApp Business App
- Voice & Video Calls – Continue to work only in the mobile app
- Group Chats – App-only, not connected to the API
- Catalog, Orders & Status – Still visible in the app
- Labels, Greeting Message & Quick Replies – Remain usable in the app
- Business Profile – Still visible to customers
Disabled After Cloud API Onboarding
- Display Name Editing – Not shown or editable after API connection
- WhatsApp Pay – Disabled
- Message Edit / Revoke – Not available
- Broadcast Lists – Disabled and becomes read-only
- Disappearing Messages – Automatically turned off
- View Once Messages – Disabled
- Live Location – Disabled
Important Note
Only one-to-one (1:1) chats and contacts are supported and synced via the BotBee Cloud API. Advanced WhatsApp Business App features such as calls, groups, catalogs, and status remain app-only and are not connected to the API.
